Cantine Adanti

Adanti's vineyards sit on the site of a former monastery on the edge of Montefalco, acquired by the family in 1974. Winemaker Alvaro Palini joined in the late 1970s and set the estate's style: Sagrantino refined rather than blunt, and Sangiovese given the same delicate attention usually reserved for the bigger grape.

Everything is still done by hand — pruning, and picking bunch by bunch — by people who work the same vines year after year.

Daniela and Donatella Adanti now run the estate, with Daniele Palini — Alvaro's son — as winemaker, continuing a friendship between the two families that spans two generations.

We pay particular attention to manual operations — from pruning to meticulous hand-picking bunch by bunch — carried out exclusively by people trained in the vineyard who are perfectly familiar with each plant. — Domenico Adanti
