Montefalco · First release 2018
Montefalco young guns
Gianfranco and Alessia Natali started out growing olives, then took on vineyards that once belonged to one of Montefalco's best-known winemaking families — including a small plot of ungrafted, pre-phylloxera vines over a hundred years old, a rarity anywhere in Italy since the 19th-century blight.
The estate released its first wine in 2018 and farms organically with as little intervention as the vintage allows, treating the old vines as something to be looked after rather than exploited.
